Privacy statement
How Norway Moto Adventure AS collects, uses and protects your personal data.
Draft. This statement describes how the website and our booking process work today. It should be reviewed once the trip builder, the ride app and any analytics tools go live.
Who is responsible
Norway Moto Adventure AS, org. no. 938 432 759, Myrsætervegen 12, 3522 Bjoneroa, Norway, is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at booking@norwaymotoadventure.com or +47 454 75 914.
What we collect, and why
- When you send us a request
- Your name, e-mail address and – if you fill them in – your phone number, country, preferred dates, number of riders, riding experience and message. We use this to answer you and to prepare an offer. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- When you book
- In addition: billing details, driving licence details, and any health or dietary information you choose to give us for accommodation. We use this to carry out the contract, to hand over a motorcycle legally, and to meet our obligations as an organiser. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legal obligation.
- When you use the trip builder
- Your answers are stored in your own browser so you can come back to them. They stay on your device and only reach us if you choose to send your trip request.
- When you visit the website
- Our hosting provider records standard server log data – IP address, time, page requested, browser type – for security and for aggregated visitor statistics. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Cookies
This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies. The trip builder stores your answers in your browser’s local storage; that data never leaves your device unless you send it to us. During the preview phase, a session cookie remembers that you have entered the preview password.
Web fonts are currently loaded from Google Fonts, which means your IP address reaches Google’s servers when a page loads. [To review before launch: self-host the fonts so this no longer happens.]
Who else sees your data
- Our hosting provider (Webhuset AS, Norway), which stores the website and our e-mail.
- Hotels, guesthouses and campsites on your route – we pass on the names of the riders staying and the dates, nothing more.
- Our accountant and, where required, the Norwegian authorities, for invoices and bookkeeping.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Requests that do not lead to a booking: deleted within [12 months].
- Booking and customer records: kept for as long as the trip and any claims period require.
- Accounting records: five years after the end of the financial year, as Norwegian bookkeeping law requires.
- Server logs: [retention period used by our host].
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, ask us to limit how we use it, object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and receive the data you gave us in a portable format. Write to booking@norwaymotoadventure.com and we will answer within one month.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet), datatilsynet.no.
Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection. Access to booking data is limited to the people who need it to prepare and run your trip.
